Building A Secure, Scalable EV Charging Network At SAP Bangalore
Executive Summary
MFAR, a leading real estate developer in South India, partnered with Bolt.Earth to embed EV charging infrastructure across its commercial properties. By deploying 40 chargers in a dual-format network, MFAR transformed its buildings into active enablers of clean mobility. The initiative delivered measurable ESG outcomes from day one, avoided 454 kg of CO₂ emissions in its first year, and positioned MFAR as a pioneer in sustainable real estate development.
Project Objectives
MFAR set out to transform its key commercial properties into active enablers of clean mobility by installing an enterprise-grade, fully integrated EV charging network. The company’s vision was to provide exclusive, tenant-focused access to charging facilities that would seamlessly fit into daily workplace routines. By aligning infrastructure upgrades with national decarbonization goals, MFAR sought to deliver a user-centric experience that encouraged adoption while building a scalable model capable of expanding across its portfolio. This initiative was designed not only to meet immediate tenant demand but also to establish a long-term foundation for sustainable urban development.
Challenges and Planning
The journey toward this transformation was not without obstacles. Existing electrical capacity and parking layouts were not designed to support EV infrastructure, requiring significant upgrades and careful planning. At the same time, tenant demand for reliable, building-integrated charging was growing rapidly, making timely deployment essential. MFAR also needed to ensure that the rollout did not disrupt ongoing business operations, which meant executing upgrades with precision and minimal interference. Finally, the user experience had to be intuitive, secure, and tailored exclusively for tenants, ensuring that the system would be embraced as a valuable amenity rather than a technical hurdle.
