We are pleased to announce updates to our invoicing system to ensure compliance with GST regulations, effective January 8th , 2024. From now on, the prices you set on our app will include taxes.
Below is a detailed outline of the adjustments:
Case 1: You have a GST number and have already added GST details on the app
If you have a GST number and have already provided your GST details and other relevant information, no further steps are necessary.
Case 2: You have a GST number, but you have not added GST details on the app
If you have a GST number and have given it to us during Initialization, you will be categorized as a GST-registered host. In this case, your settlement will include taxes, based on the amount you set when initializing a charger.
i. How to add a GST number on the App
If you have not added your GST number on the app, you can do so in the accounts section. Go to payments and delete your previously added payment account. Then, add a bank account with your GST details.
ii. If your business is in a Special Economic Zone (SEZ)
If your business is registered in an SEZ, you must provide an SEZ undertaking and Zero tax declaration. The taxes applicable on EV charging as a service will then be zero. For this case, the total amount will be equal to the Charging fees and no taxes will be applied. You need to send these documents to [email protected]. After receiving them, our team will verify the documents. Once verified, your business will be categorized under SEZ.
iii. If your business is registered in a Non-Special Economic Zone (SEZ)
If your business is in a non-SEZ, 18 percent taxes will apply according to tax policies. For Example: If you have a public paid charger listed on the Bolt.Earth app, and the price set by you on our platform is 20 Rs per unit (inclusive of taxes), you will receive a settlement of 20 Rs for every unit of energy consumed from your charger. Rs 16.95 will be your net earnings and Rs 3.05 will be the applicable taxes.
Case 3: You do not have a GST number, but you want to get one
If you do not have a GST number but want to get one, visit https://www.gst.gov.in for more details.
Case 4: You do not have a GST number and you do not want to get one
In the event that you do not possess a GST number, taxes will be excluded from your settlement. To optimize your earnings, you may adjust your pricing within the app accordingly.
For Example: If you have a public paid charger listed on the Bolt.Earth app, and the price set by you on our platform is ₹20 per unit (inclusive of taxes), you will receive a settlement of ₹16.95 for every unit of energy consumed from your charger. Ujoy Technology will collect and pay the remaining ₹3.05 in taxes.
