Building a Secure, Scalable EV Charging Network at SAP Bangalore
The Challenge
Transforming residential EV charging into a shared community asset
Urbanrise, South India’s largest residential developer, is known for delivering thoughtfully designed, high-amenity living spaces. But as EV adoption grew among its residents, the lack of dedicated charging infrastructure became increasingly problematic.
A resident survey at Alliance Galleria and City of Joy highlighted a recurring challenge: multiple EV owners were forced to install individual chargers in ad hoc ways—creating safety hazards, wiring complexity, and operational inefficiencies.
Urbanrise aimed to address this challenge not through isolated fixes, but with a strategic solution: a safe, centralized EV charging system that would reduce carbon emissions, streamline charging operations, and scale with demand.
The Solution
Designing a resident-first charging network that’s scalable by design
Urbanrise collaborated with Bolt.Earth to roll out a turnkey solution—combining infrastructure deployment, stakeholder training, and smart charging management tools tailored to the unique needs of residential communities.
Strategic planning and electrical readiness
Bolt.Earth began with a detailed assessment of parking layouts, electrical load capacity, and resident accessibility across both properties. Working with Urbanrise, facility management, and local authorities, the team coordinated a plan that prioritized safety, space optimization, and long-term scalability.
The result:
17 chargers installed (a mix of our smart sockets for all EVs and 4-wheeler fast charger units) across Alliance Galleria and City of Joy—positioned to minimize cabling complexity while maximizing daily usability.
Seamless integration into daily life
The deployment was designed to blend into the existing architecture without disrupting shared spaces. Residents were onboarded through hands-on training sessions and live demonstrations, with digital and printed manuals provided for ongoing support.
Dedicated support channels were also established, including a WhatsApp group and a single point of contact (SPOC) to ensure real-time assistance and quick resolution of resident queries.
Intelligent energy and billing management
At the core of the solution was Bolt.Earth’s smart charging management platform—offering:
• Real-time monitoring of energy consumption and session activity
• Automated billing with consumption-based invoicing and weekly host settlements
• Instant alerts and booking confirmations for users via the app
This enabled both residents and building management to track usage, optimize energy distribution, and manage payments effortlessly.
The Impact
From fragmented charging to community-scale electrification
Urbanrise’s EV charging rollout has set a new standard for how residential developments can enable sustainable transportation—without compromising convenience, safety, or financial transparency.
Environmental performance
Between 2023 and March 2025, the two sites delivered over 24,000 kWh of clean energy and enabled more than 11,800 hours of active charging. These numbers translate into measurable carbon savings and signal a strong shift toward low-emission commuting.

Operational transformation
1. Optimized Charging Experience: A structured, centralized charging system eliminates the need for ad-hoc installations.
2. Seamless Access & Convenience: Residents can monitor and book charging sessions via the Bolt.Earth app.
3. Safe & Standardized Setup: Ensured compliance with safety protocols, reducing risks associated with individual installations.
The Road Ahead
Urbanrise’s collaboration with Bolt.Earth has delivered a blueprint for sustainable growth in residential EV infrastructure. With strong adoption, positive resident feedback, and a scalable foundation in place, the company is now exploring expansion across additional properties—bringing smart, safe, and community-centric electrification to more homes across South India.
